For this response paper you must focus on one part of the Ways of Seeing PowerPoint Presentation.  This, of course, refers to some specific piece of the “text”—a line, a paragraph, AN IDEA.  Use this piece of text as a “jumping off” point.  Remember that in your response paper you must try out the ideas of theory as a rite of passage into the discourse community of contemporary theorists.  In this particular response paper you will be trying out the ideas and language of John Berger, using his terminology while identifying and exploring an idea or concept.  For example, you may experiment with the changing nature of the image, and show how the camera helps to support this idea.  As you use this language in your response paper, you will find that the terms make expressing your ideas easier as you begin to analyze your reading of various literary or other “texts.”  Remember that in a response paper depth is more important than breadth.

Please select from the following two options.  If you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint 97 or 2000, you will have to use option two.  If you do have either version installed on your computer, I strongly recommend option one.

Option One:
Download the original PowerPoint presentation, with animations, and view it using either PowerPoint 97 or PowerPoint 2000.

Option Two:
View the PowerPoint presentation online, without animations.
